Her manager Francie Friel paid tribute to her, revealing she was playing with an injured knee.“She is just scary,” said proud Francie“She has a sore knee; she is playing with a cartilage gone in her knee. Dr Tony Delap in Gaoth Dobhair gave her an injection and thank God it worked and I want to thank him for that.“I made Geraldine the captain ten months ago and I told her I’d take her to an all-Ireland and she and all the girls have worked so hard this year. I’ve given up 10 months of my life for this and you get your reward in the end. “We hit a purple patch in the second half and it’s important you push on when you get those periods in the game and the girls did just that.“The biggest belief came after winning Ulster. We have girls taking days off work, flying home from Scotland and England for games; these are the rewards you get.”“The girls have given great satisfaction to the parish and the club. I’m very proud of all of them.”FRANCIE FRIEL: ‘GERALDINE WAS PLAYING WITH DODGY KNEE, I TOLD HER I WOULD TAKE HER TO AN ALL-IRELAND’ was last modified: November 30th, 2014 by John2Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:All-Ireland championsFrancie FrielLadiesTermonlast_img read more
