Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III won the Heisman Trophy in 2011 and is one of the most accomplished players in BU history. He’s had some rough sledding in the NFL the past two seasons, but this morning he returned to where he played his best football. Griffin is back at Baylor for the Bears’ Pro Day today, and he got a workout in beforehand with one of his former wide receivers, Lanear Sampson. We wonder if Griffin will throw at all during the Pro Day as an extra arm for receivers running routes. Even if he does, he won’t be the most-watched QB at the event. That title goes to current BU signal caller Bryce Petty, who is trying to raise his draft stock.
Auburn Sand Pit WorkoutToday was definitely not a lazy Sunday for some of Auburn’s football players. Tigers’ wide receiver Dhaquille Williams and a couple of his teammates spent some time working out in a sand pit. It’s 92 degrees in Auburn, Ala., today. So it was probably a pretty rough workout. “It’s going to pay off,” Williams said. Auburn opens its 2015 season Sept. 5 against Louisville in the Georgia Dome.
Image Courtesy: Lomar ShippingThe grounded containership Kea Trader developed a crack and split on the Durand Reef over the weekend, according to New Caledonia’s government.“Four months of continual pounding in sometime storm-force seas and the stress of sitting hard aground a flat rock reef resulted in the m/v Kea Trader fracturing vertically over the weekend,” Kea Trader’s owner Lomar Shipping said.Noticeable vertical buckling in the mid-section of the hull side expanded during violent six-metre waves, causing the vessel to rupture completely into two halves on November 12.The company informed that each section remains in situ, although the break up and heavy seas resulted in two container units falling into the water. They are being monitored, as is the vessel itself, by two tugs that remain on site, along with specialist anti-pollution contractors.Although the heavy fuel oil was earlier pumped out of the 2017-built boxship, which ran aground on the Durand Reef on July 12, authorities reported traces of pollution from residual quantities of hydrocarbons at the site.Ahead of the latest bout of poor weather, all but a skeletal team of nine Ardent workers had been removed from the vessel last Thursday – the fourth such time that crew and salvage personnel were taken off as a precautionary measure. The remaining nine Ardent salvage workers were all airlifted safely off by helicopter.Work to remove vessel’s remaining containers had been on-going in recent weeks, although 108 were still on board of the original 756 units. This effort had been hampered by poor weather on site.“We remain committed to removing the vessel whilst also ensuring that the marine environment is protected and will be working with our partners to ensure this is realised,” Lomar Shipping spokesperson said. The owner earlier said that the constant, heavy movement of the sea, even in good weather, affected Kea Trader causing further damage, weakening the ship’s hull, and frustrating the re-floating operations on site.A rare ideal weather window and high tide allowed recovery teams to attempt an accelerated re-floating operation in early October. This failed to dislodge the vessel and merely pivoted it by 60 degrees, with the rudder remaining firm in the same position.World Maritime News Staff
APTN National NewsFor most of us, the picture of the Canadian .25 cents quarter is as close to the woodland caribou as we’re going to get. That’s not the case for the James Bay Cree, at least right now.But they fear that future may become a reality with a declining herd, as the number has dropped by half in the past decade. Many point to logging as the culprit.APTN’s Tom Fennario reports there is a way to save the herd – if everyone agrees to it.
After Eden Hazard’s honest comments about failing Jose Mourinho during their time at Chelsea, the Portuguese manager responded accordingly. This past week there was a statement Eden Hazard made about Jose Mourinho that surprised everyone, he accepted his part of responsibility when the Portuguese manager was sacked and revealed he apologized to the boss after it happened.Sometimes we don’t realize how much influence the best players can have in their squads, when they are not at their top form it shows in the team’s performance and that is exactly what happened with Eden Hazard.During that season after Jose came back to win the Premier League on his second spell, Hazard confessed that the players asked the manager for more vacation time and he returned in very poor shape. This affected the squad’s performance because Hazard is the top player in Chelsea. Now that some time has passed, the Belgian playmaker understands that he was also to blame for the team’s bad situation and he regretted not playing under Jose Mourinho for a longer period of time.Eden even hinted that he would love working under the Portuguese manager again, something that may or may not be possible in the future. Hopefully in a different league like Spain, for example.JOSE AND HAZARD TO REUNITE AT REAL⁉Could Jose Mourinho and Eden Hazard be set for a surprise reunion at Real Madrid, in light of the player’s comments this week? https://t.co/ddEgkXVDm8 pic.twitter.com/OOeA1PCKEr— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) October 14, 2018But after Hazard’s comments last week, it was Jose Mourinho’s time to respond and he did it in style with what can arguably be considered high praise between two legends of the game. The Red Devils’ boss recently spoke to Sky Sports ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Stamford Bridge and Jose spoke about the threat that Hazard poses to his players, but he also referred to those comments.“If I only think about Eden, we are in trouble. It’s Eden, It’s Willian, it’s [N’Golo] Kante. It’s really hard to play against a team and focus on one man if that special man is surrounded by special players,” said Mourinho about stopping Hazard this Saturday.“He is a good kid. He was a good kid in my time and now he is a good man, three or four years more maturity he was a kid and now is a man,” added Mourinho about Hazard’s recent comments.“I think he knows how good he is, I think he knows how much he can influence the destiny of his team in the course of a season.”“In my first season he was voted the best player in the Premier League and the team was champion. In my second season he was not very good, but we were not very good.”Daniel Farke, From mid-table in the Championship to the Premier League Manuel R. Medina – September 14, 2019 Norwich City manager, Daniel Farke, has taken his team from the middle of the table in the English Championship to play with the big boys in the Premier League.“Then Antonio comes, he was the best player in the Premier League and they won the title again, and he knows that with his talent he can influence the destiny of his team.”Eden Hazard is expecting some special treatment from Manchester United’s midfield at Stamford Bridge today.More: https://t.co/qMVhrNUdN1 pic.twitter.com/blVpCMuRKa— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) October 19, 2018We seriously can’t wait for this match to start, it’s going to be one of the most exciting fixtures of the weekend in all of Europe and both clubs are already taking the necessary precautions to not lose the match. However, the most difficult task will be for Jose Mourinho because he knows that Hazard is currently at the top of his game and there is very little the opponent can do when great stars are unplayable.Surely there is already a plan in motion to try and stop him, but considering the poor defensive capabilities that Manchester United has at the moment, there isn’t much they can do to avoid getting owned by the Belgian Red Devil. As far as the future is concerned, it would obviously be great watching Hazard play under Jose Mourinho again but the future is uncertain right now. Let us focus on the present for now, and talk about the future after this match is over. The Premier League is back!Time for Merse’s predictions – do you agree?More: https://t.co/11p0dztkcj pic.twitter.com/Jwm0hWc84F— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) October 19, 2018Which club would you like for Hazard and Mourinho to cross paths again?
