Virat Kohli has reached Australia for a two-month long tour along with his Indian troops but before the captain gets into the grind, he caught up with the Australian football legend Tim Cahill.Cahill is plying his trade at Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League but is currently back home down under during the international break in the league.Ahead of the beginning of the ISL season 5, Cahill had said that he loves cricket and admires Kohli for the way he has worked his way to the top and he took to Instagram to share with his fans when he had the chance to catch up with the captain.”Pleasure to catch up with you brother @virat.kohli. Alot of respect for you and the work you do in INDIA on and off the cricket pitch. Appreciate you supporting my move to play football in India. #LEGEND,” Cahill captioned the image. The 38-year-old Cahill has so far made 6 appearances for Jamshedpur and has scored a solitary goal for the club. Jamshedpur are currently placed fourth in the ISL table, having accumulated 11 points from seven games.Out of the seven games, Jamshedpur have won only two games, have drawn five of them and have not lost a single match to keep their position in the table.advertisementCahill is not only a Kohli admirer but his all-time favourite is Sachin Tendulkar, “without a shadow of a doubt”.”I love cricket. My all-time favourite is Sachin Tendulkar, without a shadow of a doubt. But now, it is obviously Virat Kohli because I love his background story of how he has achieved what he is today,” Cahill had said ahead of the start of the season.Cahill further spoke on the facets of Kohli that appeals to him and admitted that he followed the Indian star on social media.”He works hard, he is humble, he sacrificed a lot and is very committed. But I also like the way he tends to give back so much to the Indian people off the park, both emotionally and charitably. So I follow him on the social networks. He is a good example,” Cahill further said.In fact, Cahill loves his cricket so much that he even played a bit of cricket in Jamshedpur on an off day and took to Twitter to share a video of the same.Little bit of cricket on my day off we don’t like cricket, we love it pic.twitter.com/EBfTDBeSymTIM CAHILL (@Tim_Cahill) October 18, 2018On the cricketing front, Kohli is excited about the challenging tour of Australia and conquering the series down under remains the top priority for the Indian team after losing the Test series in England and South Africa earlier this year.India have never won a Test series in Australia and everybody is claiming that this is the team’s best opportunity to create history Down Under as the home side is missing its key players in Steve Smith and David Warner.Kohli, who dazzled with the bat on India’s previous tour to Australia in 2014-15, would want his captaincy to do as much good this time around.Kohli had scored a staggering 692 runs in the Test series when India toured Australia in 2014-15 and was the second highest run-scorer behind Smith (769) in the four-match series. The 30-year-old, who will be leading a young team this time around, will be eyeing a repeat of his performance on this tour as well. Also watch –
